With a population of almost 130,000, St. Catharines has now become the dominant centre of the Niagara Peninsula and seat of the Niagara Regional government. Ontario's Garden City is right between the shores of Lake Ontario and the Niagara Escarpment. Located in the heart of Niagara, the City of St. Catharines proudly offers an exciting array of attractions, festivals and events. This vibrant City, steeped in heritage, has a diversity of accommodations, restaurants and is the shopping hub of the Peninsula. Home of Brock University and Ridley College, two outstanding education choices. Wineries and good golf courses surround this whole area.

Port Dalhousie, the Northern terminus of the Welland Canal at Lake Ontario has active night life and a large marina. It also is home of the Henley rowing course. Welland is the namesake of the Welland Canal, where all of the St. Lawrence Seaway traffic passes to get between Lake Erie & Lake Ontario.

A wide array of small-scale accommodation can be found in this area.
