On the scenic drive of the Appalachian Range Route visit CAMPBELLTON'S picturesque Salmon Plaza; where you will find Restigouche Sam, an 8.5-meter stainless steel model of the region's famous fish. The historic Restigouche River is renowned worldwide for its Salmon Fishing, but the river holds as much excitement for the canoeist, photographer or outdoor enthusiast. The scenic waters of the Nepisiguit River flow north and east some 128 kilometers to empty into the Bay of Chaleur at Bathurst. Surrounded by a bed of enormous black rocks, the Nepisiguit River roars through 3 stages of black granite. BATHURST offers you the chance to enjoy canoeing at its best. Youghall Beach's warm salt waters prove to be enticing to swimmers through the summer. Take a stroll on the boardwalk, play volleyball, windsurf or sunbathe on the golden sands. Discover the nature trails at Daly Point Reserve, just across the harbour from Youghall Beach.

Follow the Acadian Coastal Drive and witness Acadian History First-Hand at the Acadian Historical Village in CARAQUET as costumed villagers welcome you to the time period between 1770 and 1939. Great concern has been taken to portray authenticity in the original buildings, furnishings and agricultural equipment. Recipes passed down from Acadian kitchens throughout the centuries are now part of the menu in seaside cafés, street side bistros and five-star restaurants. In the TOWN OF SHIPPIGAN, every day of the fishing season, shore and deep-sea fishermen bring in hundreds of tons of fish: herring, lobster, scallop, and crab. No wonder that Shippagan draws ever growing crowds to its annual Fisheries and Aquaculture Festival.

Canada's Irish Festival on the Miramichi is an annual celebration of music, culture and family! Plan to take part in one of the festival's most popular events: the Walking Parade. Explore the streets of MIRAMICHI on foot. Just follow the Shamrocks on the streets! But most importantly Miramichi is famous for its river which is known world wide for its salmon and natural beauty, and its friendly people. The City of Miramichi is the gateway to a whole region where "Hospitality here is Home-made." Come and experience "The Mighty Miramichi" and all it has to offer.
