There’s a lot to be said about the Northern Experience. Rugged wilderness, raw beauty, majestic vistas, and adventure in every corner. There's no better view of the Aurora Borealis, photographs simply do not do this magical phenomenon justice. Northern Manitoba's parks are yours to discover. Wapusk National Park protects one of the world's largest known polar bear maternity denning areas. Grass River Provincial Park is ideal for fishing and it's here that you'll find the dazzling Wekusko Falls. Paint Lake Provincial Recreation Park is home to Manitoba's largest marina. Clearwater Lake: The water of this lake is so clear that the bottom is visible at 11 meters. Considered one of three true-blue lakes in the world, it's no wonder so many trophy fish have chosen to call it home.

CHURCHILL is the polar bear capital of the world - the only human settlement where polar bears can be observed in the wild. In summer, white beluga whales surface and plunge in the blue-green waters of the Churchill River mouth. Seals can also be seen in the harbour and caribou are frequently sighted along the coast, so it's always a difficult choice deciding what to see and do first.

FLIN FLON, the city built on rocks; is a tourist paradise. It is the only city to be named after a science fiction character. The unspoiled land, warm friendly people and majestic tales will make you want to stay forever. This mining community has every modern convenience and a myriad of attractions for the outdoor adventurist including boating, water skiing, fishing, hunting and trapping. In winter go snowmobiling, cross-country skiing or ice fishing.

Manitoba's third largest city combines urban amenities with an easygoing outdoor lifestyle. The setting has the distinctive northern flavor, but here you'll also find the comforts you're accustom to. With a population of nearly 15,000, THOMPSON is home to several large indoor shopping malls, restaurants, and nightlife venues, while serving as the base for world-class canoeing. It is the gateway to magnificent wilderness where there's freedom and room to roam. Surrounded by superb fly-in fishing lodges, the ruggedly beautiful Canadian Shield has adventure calling from every corner.
